Books: By Authors: Ray Bissonette
Ray Bissonette was born in Buffalo where he graduated from Canisius High School and Canisius College. He left in 1961 to complete his master's and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Maryland after which he did a tour in the Army. With his wife, Ann, he returned to Buffalo in 1970 where they raised three children.
He spent 27 years on the faculty of the SUNY Buffalo Medical School in the departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine and served on numerous human service boards. His publications include a variety of materials in the professional and popular press. From 1996 through 2003 he delivered radio commentaries on the area NPR affiliate, WBFO.
From his home in Snyder, he operates the Bissonette Foundation and consults on grant writing. He teaches professional writing in the graduate school of D'Youville College and is active on the Board of Aspire, (formerly United Cerebral Palsy Association) where he has served twice as Chairman.
